FORT WALTON BEACH — “Top Chef” contestant and “Bar Rescue” guest chef Tiffany Derry recently helped Luxe Sports Grill update its menu.
Luxe owner Maurice Florence asked Derry to help rework the restaurant’s menu.
Florence had seen an episode of “Bar Rescue” and was impressed with her vision, knowledge and implementation skills in the kitchen. He then began trying to get her to Luxe as soon as possible because of her busy schedule.
“When we spoke, I told him I only have next week available and he said ‘OK, what do you need from me?’ ” Derry said. “I told him what information I would need to get started. He got it to me and here I am with a new or revised menu.”
Derry worked with her personal staff and Luxe’s staff to show the cooks how to create the new dishes, how they should be plated for presentation, and how to vary former dishes to assure consistency and quality.
“The menu went from over 40 items to a trimmed down 29, offering more entrees, appetizers and delicious sauces for those boneless chicken wings that are so popular,” Derry said. “I’ve enjoyed my visit to the area and intend to return sometime this summer to check in and see how they’re doing.”
Luxe Sports Grill is located downtown and is open seven days a week. It has more than 25 television screens and lots of seating with sofas to offer more intimate areas for small groups or parties.
